Wrong Side of the Bed?

Today in Calculus I was asked where a certain function was concave up. Of course, it was obvious to me that the answer was negative infinity to zero, but for some reason I found pi taking the place of infinity when my answer escaped my mouth. I hate it when that happens.

I have just become a Phi Theta Kappa member.

For those who don’t know, Phi Theta Kappa is the Honors Society for the community colleges. The cool thing is that I didn’t apply or anything, they asked me. My induction is the 31st of this month. WOOT

Safari 4

I have looked into it that much, but I downloaded the beta of Safari 4 on the XP machine at church and I have got to say that the new tabs are an awful rehash of the tabs from Google Chrome. I am not saying they are wrong for copying Google, but rather that they are wrong for doing it so badly.

Songbird: Album View addon

It has come to pass that “stevo” over at Pioneers of the Inevitable(Songbird) is, well, swamped. As a result, “stevo” divvied out some of his extensions to various birdwatchers. I open my big mouth(so to speak) and now “moshy” are in charge of the Album View addon. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I’m doing. Fortunately, I get to take part in something awesome before I exit college. I’m hoping my co-developer is able to help me learn more about what I’m doing and that my haphazard experiments I’ve been performing today will bear some good fruit(I got one feature working at the expense of three others, trial and error).

Cool Quote #8

We do not ask for what useful purpose the birds do sing, for song is
their pleasure since they were created for singing. Similarly, we ought
not to ask why the human mind troubles to fathom the secrets of the
heavens. The diversity of the phenomena of nature is so great and the
treasures hidden in the heavens so rich precisely in order that the
human mind shall never be lacking in fresh enrichment. – Johannes Kepler

Winter Jam

The concert was awesome, a great way to kick off spring break. I heard some great bands and some that just weren’t my cup of tea. I heard from Gotee’s Stephanie Smith for the first time and really enjoyed it. Francesca Battistelli captivated my mind with Beautiful, Beautiful. I heard Newsong for the first time and found the dynamics of the vocalists to be quite entertaining. tobyMac brought an amazing show to the stage with the more than able Diverse City crew. I saw some well done choreography from the child-group PureNRG. The Afters also did an amazing job and had me wishing I had enough extra dough to pick up their disc. Tony Nolan was extremely funny. Most importantly, however, there were dozen of decisions made for Christ.

I picked up Hip Hope Hits 2009 while at Winter Jam and was very pleased. I would say that the best was saved for last, because some of my favorite tracks lingered in the back, particularly those by Braille, B.Reith, J Remy, and Proxy.

Part of my love for music is my desire to let others know what is good. So, next chance you get, head over to last.fm/user/kamisamanou and check out What I’m listening to or peruse my library.
