When comes to technology politics, most should know that I’m a dedicated fanatic of FLOSS. Many, however, may also know that I am likewise a fanatic of Google.
I like many a Google app. I currently use Analytics, Checkout, Reader, GMail, Docs & Spreadsheets, Calendar, Talk, iGoogle, News, Froogle, Notebook, Maps, and a bunch of stuff in Labs. Out of this list their is very little detail I would give in what I do, but I would definitely tell you what’s in my Reader.
- xkcd.com (New!) - I just started reading this after seeing “Compiling”
- Aptana :: Weblog - Gotta keep up to date on the project as best as I can.
- FedoraNEWS.org - If you run Fedora, this is quite important.
- Songbirdnest.com blogs - Tracking the ‘bird.
- Sourceforge.net Frontpage News - I heard about aTunes through this feed.
- User Interface Blog (New!) - I saw a digg post from this site, and decided to stay a while.
- Featured Topics at Dream.in.Code - Yes, I am a programmer.
- Kamisamanou.net - No, I’m not conceited! I like to test everything I create.
Those that say “New!” are feeds I just recently subscribed too, not new blogs.
I should add this to my blogroll

I running Infinite as I write this post. I installed it very quickly with no trouble. I update with yum for the first time in months, and am impressed with the improvements. Setting up the wireless took 6 easy steps making it less difficult than running ndiswrapper under F7(I have the bcm4318-wireless-card-of-doom). I’m currently busy getting everything back on my system. As a note to myself, I still need:
Aptana
aTunes
VLC Media Player
Audacity
Plus a lot of configuration(it was a fresh install)!!

You’ve definitely heard of Songbird if you hang out here enough, but have you heard of aTunes. I just did a few days ago by way of the Sourceforge.net. It’s based on Java and despite that, is actually quite fast. It has a nice interface and a load of features that you would come to expect out of a media player. It runs much smoother than Songbird.
The crucial difference between the two is that Songbird is a media player/web browser and that aTunes just goes for being a media player. I’m definitely not going to ditch the ‘bird, but while waiting for the ‘bird to mature this will be a great media player and I’ll be happy to hold the hand of the winner in the end when that decision is made.

AllOfMP3/Mp3Sparks.com have won in court in Russia. This effectively means they aren’t under the tires of Russia anymore. That is something to give them breathing room until the RIAA figures out how to carry an international lawsuit that will be effective. By that time the owners may be dead, which won’t stop the RIAA.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks so far. I went 43 straight hours without sleep, working on schoolwork and my job the entire time. I followed that with a night of 11 hours of sleep, but was only able to pull 3 hours the following night. I’ve done so much sleeping that I’m kinda behind. I’ve finished to Java applets which I’ll put up on Kamisamanou.net just for fun after I write some error handling for them. I must go take a Chemistry test now.
/**Update**/
Fedora 8 hits servers tommorrow!
