In the latest edition of the Google Friends Newsletter, 1-800-GOOG-411 was announced. This toll-free service is a 411 provided by Google and works pretty well. I threw the names of a small town or two at it and it gave me and impressive list. It can be controlled by your voice and in some instances, your keypad. This is one that will definitely make it out of labs quite quickly.
Digg.com supposedly crashed between 9:25 pm & 9:35 pm CST due to a groundbreaking amount of digging when a story containing the processing key for HD-DVDs and Blu-ray discs got posted to the site for the second time. The story has apparently set record in the diggs/minute area. I also saw some more comments reporting even more crashes of the story. I blogged it before writing this post, so you can digg it by scrolling down and hitting the “read” link. At my last check, in 8 hours 46 minutes, the story had 11043 diggs and was increasing at approximately 30dpm.
Also, among similar lines. It has been reported that WEP wireless security can now be broken in under a minute. The firm that has accomplished this ask that you switch to WPA as soon as possible.
