Here it is: Episode 00
Attribution: NelaS of ccmixter.org created the music for the intro. You did a great job man.
When the young digg spammer decided to come up with a reason to pay 500 greenbacks for Apple’s latest cellphone, he made the assumption that it would include the service for a year. This, at first sounds crazy, but then Engadget & Mac Rumors claimed that Jim Cramer(Zune-Basher) and TheStreet had knowledge of a 1.5 year “free” service agreement with the iPhone. According to the big-E(Engadget) you’ll still have to fork over some coin for the data plan(txt, web, etc.) if it happens. “If”, you ask? Engadget also says that there’s no official word from either Apple or AT&T/Cingular and that “…this one just seems a bit too rough around the edges to hold any sort of reality,…” However, if it’s true, you can definitely remove the listing for your soul from ebay.
Update:
It seems Gizmodo is in cahoots with Cingular. According to Gizmodo, a Cingular representative stated that “The report is nonsense. We’ve always said the only way you can get the iPhone is with a Cingular rate plan.” I guess those of you who were actually considering getting the iPhone amidst the rumor, will just have to settle for for something a little cheaper or re-list your soul.

A good Winamp clone is hard to find. But, the search may very well be coming to an end. Audacious Media Player is actually a fork of BMP and just released version 1.3 Alpha2. Being smart, they didn’t get in over their heads and managed to put out what is currently and extremely simple media player. It has many pros, including that legendary interface, solid code(minimal crashing), speedy development cycle. Cons are present and include a very limited file type support, lack of many features, and other thing associated with an infant release. However, the project could easily become as popular as XMMS was/is and maybe, among Linux users, as popular as Winamp.
I have posted the poll on the name of the “Unnamed Open Source Netcast” @ http://www.kamisamanou.net/oggCast/. There are many names however your submissions are very welcome and desired. Just post your idea in a comment on this post and I’ll add it to the poll. It will go on for 1 week so the sooner the better. If no votes are cast, I’ll select my favorite. In the event of a tie, I’ll do the same. So go on and cast your vote!
I finally found a theme I really liked. If you saw it before I finished my preliminary modifications you’d see it was a wierd baby blue color, but I’ve changed it to red, maroon, and another dark shade. Text is white, so it should be far more readable. I still have to modify the fonts, but it’s displaying O.K. on my Fedora Core 6 machine. When I finally do get around to it, there will be some huge changes coming to kamisamanou.net. I don’t know exactly what, but it will happen. If you still can’t stand the red, all I can say is oh well, because I really like it. I plan on a lot of changes this summer, especially since college is right around the corner. Anyway, have a good week.
Sayonara,
Kamisamanou
I’ve been away from my website for some time now, Unfortunately, I don’t see a lot in store when it comes to changes until the first Saturday in February. I have an amazing show on it’s way….and since most open-source people are typically busy people, you’ll be glad to hear the show shouldn’t go beyond 20 minutes, but will still be loaded with plenty of information. If you like the show, it’d be very useful for you to send me stories you hear about for episode 01. I’d also like a co-host, someone who is even more knowledgeable than I when it comes to the open-source software and culture. Fedora Core users should also enjoy the show, as I have an abundance of Fedora(Core) news in the show. I may also considering trying to keep up with another distro. For that reason, you should let me know if you have any distro you’d like covered monthy.
